Bio

Augustine is an original rock band from Central New York. Their modern-rock sound radiates raw passion coupled with power and is frequently described as “radio friendly”. They are entertaining and vibrant, providing high-energy shows with plenty of audience interaction. Simply put… Augustine rocks!

This band has been through a series of evolutions and is consistently gaining momentum. They frequently play many of the clubs and events in Central NY and beyond, and have also had a couple of TV appearances.

The final battle in the Westcott Theater’s “Big Break Battle of the Bands”, November of 2009, a review after the show from Michael K. Thomas in the Syracuse New Times stated: Augustine … hit heavy with the look and feel of bands from K-Rock’s playlist…. Like those rockers, they’re trying to do something new in their musical niche in the sense they play all original music, and it actually rocks.’

In January 2011, Augustine wins “Band Wars” in Utica, presented by JK Toth Productions.  After round one it was said: “Augustine followed with a set that demonstrated great poise under pressure, combining tight vocal harmonies with an electric violin…..Augustine was declared the winner of the Saturday competition, thus earning a spot as a Band Wars finalist.”

The finals: “Augustine countered with two songs which displayed new heights of energy, flawless solos, rhythm guitars, and a dominating stage presence. In the end, Augustine became the Grand Champion of BAND WARS.”

Augustine has played a number of prominent shows. Some of the highlights are:

~    February 2010: Opened the K-Rock show at the Westcott Theater for headliners Cold and Nonpoint; played an acoustic set for "Music for the Mission", a benefit for the Syracuse Rescue Mission, at the prestigious Crouse-Hinds Theater.
